Sound of Football Episode 30 - Technology in Football

This week, the chaps discuss an old bugbear. In light of FIFA's recent decision to not pursue the use of goal line technology, Chris, Graham and Terry talked about the problems and concerns they have about the use of technology in the game.

There are some forthright opinions which go against the general Sky Sports-led consensus that technology is a good thing. They also question the motives of commercial broadcasters in the officiating of football.

We very much welcome your views and ask you to contribute to the debate. Listen to the podcast and let us know what you think.

Sound Of Football Extra! Football Disaster Movie: An Onion Bag Christmas Podcast.

The Sound Of Football is delighted to present to you Football Disaster Movie: An Onion Bag Christmas Podcast.

Burt "Two Phones" Anderson is a top transfer newshound for Sky Sports. On the night before Christmas he discovers that his only reliable source of insider information (the mysterious crackpot scientist Dr Julius Limbani) has dried up and is predicting the end of the World... of Football that is.

Determined to find out the truth, Burt seeks out Limbani and uncovers a terrifying (and hopefully very funny) chain of events that could lead to catastrophe...

The podcast is written by the Sound Of Football's very own Terry Duffelen & Graham Sibley from The Onion Bag and features their own vocal "talents". The narrator is Chris Oakley our resident anchor from Some People Are On The Pitch. The podcast also features some very special guests.

The music and sound effects were obtained from the good people of Partners In Rhyme and PacDV Free Sound Effects.

You can listen or download the podcast here. Alternatively, if you subscribe to the Sound Of Football, then it will be appearing in your reader of choice 'ere long.

We hope you enjoy the production and would be grateful for any feedback you can give in the comments section below. Please be aware that this podcast does contain the odd naughty word or three.

The Sound Of Football Podcast will return on Monday.

Join us as we bring you a special edition of the Sound Of Football Podcast. This week we performed a real time mock-up of the World Cup Draw according to how we think FIFA will organise it.

We came up with some fascinating results so why not find out who your country could be facing next summer in the World Cup. The 33rd team has not been included.

Sound Of Football Episode 16 - World Cup Wigans

With Terry experiencing technical issues, it is left to Graham and Chris to struggle through this week's Sound Of Football podcast. Mercifully the wonderful world of football has thrown up plenty of talking points including Spurs thrashing of Wigan 9-1, Liverpool's impending Champions League exit/dramatic recovery and of course, there's that World Cup Qualifier to talk about... plus France v Ireland. Didn't see that coming did you?

Sound Of Football Podcast 14

This week, we offer an alternative to our usual format. This is due to a technical problem that wiped out all of Terry's track and rendered the original podcast useless.

Instead. Chris Oakley has gone it alone this morning to talk about Manchester United v Chelsea, the FA Cup and World Cup qualifiers.

We'll be back to normal service next week. In the meantime we hope you enjoy this light but tasty morsel.

Sound Of Football Podcast 13

Welcome aboard for another edition of the Sound Of Football Podcast. This week your master of ceremonies Chris Oakley, ably assisted by is ushers Graham Sibley and Terry Duffelen discuss the comings and goings (with the emphasis on the latter) in the world of football.

First up is beleaguered Hull City boss Phil Brown but unlike others the chaps aren't too quick to poke him with sharp sticks until he falls over the precipice. While we're at it, we also take a look at the bottom of the Premier League and wonder is Pompey's win against Wigan is the beginning of the turning of the corner.

After that we look ahead to this week's Champions and Europe League action and wonder if Rafa will survive Liverpool's trip to Lyon.

This week's show is a bit of a long one but does feature some comedy corpsing by Terry near the end plus a few coughs and sniffles. You can listen by clicking here. Manchester City's credentials are examined further after an unconvincing 2-2 draw with Fulham and we celebrate the Liverpool v Manchester United Super Classico or at least the last half an hour or so.

Then we cast our eye over the draw for the first round of the FA Cup and have a good laugh at Leeds and Charlton.
