  1. Of course you don't need me to tell you that teams with the word Dynamo in them were generally the official teams of the secret police behind the old iron curtain.

  4. Sorry flicktokick - you're quite right. My brain was thinking 'Ukraine' but my fingers were thinking 'Russia'...

  5. What does "Dynamo" actually mean? Cause now I'm interested.

Also, George Bush lived in Houston for a while when he was young. Houston Dynamo, obviously from Houston. The only conclusion here is that MLS has been infiltrated by team of Dubbya's secret police to monitor "dem foriners" who play "funny football"

  6. I suspect it's a reference to power, as in a bicycle dynamo.

Oh for the day when we see the result on TV:

"Bicycle Dynamo 3 Rapid Deterioration 0..."

  7. There you are, you see. If it wasn't for your research, people would continue thinking I'm some sort of schmuck.

I know more than people think - that's all I'll say for now... :)

  8. There is a link between Berlin and Dresden.

When Dynamo Berlin were formed in 1954, it was because the bigwigs in the GDR thought that Berlin should have a top club. So they relocated pretty much the entire Dynamo Dresden squad to the capital and took Dresden's place in the First Division. Dresden were automatically relegated to the Second Division.

Those East German communists certainly knew how to get things done. And AFC Wimbledon fans think they are hard done by.

  10. Apparently, the head of the German secret police in the 60's used to manipulate the outcome of games. So suck on that, Serie A match-fixing scandal!

  11. to clarify - I mean he used to manipulate games to benefit Dynamo Berlin.

  12. Er... hate to say this, but Stavropol and Makhachkala aren't in the top flight.

  13. Also, Dinamo Brest (Belarus), Dinamo Tirana (Albania), Dinamo Bender (Moldova), Dinamo Bucuresti (Romania) and Dinamo Batumi and Dinamo Tbilisi (Georgia) are in their top leagues!
